It's also great to hear that the reuniting of the brothers and the twist on canon were interesting to you.
As to the ending, it kind of wasn't supposed to really be an ending, so I guess that's probably why it doesn't have the closure you'd like. I absolutely intend to explore more in this verse so I'm sure you'll see other stories that address how Sam and Dean deal with his past/tormentors.
I'm glad that Dean's characterization worked for you. It's something I worried about, so it's good to hear that he was softer but still Dean.
And yes, do keep your eyes peeled, I'm sure there will be many more sties coming out of this verse in the future. XD
