Dude, I honestly have no idea how I'd even put an imaginary friend in this fic and make it make any kind of sense. *shakes head* You have nothing to worry about. :D
But, oh gosh, the Before is much more than that. It's not even about the Wincest, so much as all the ways that Sam isn't all that "hidden" about things, but Dean just doesn't want to see them. It's about revealing more of their chemistry and how they ended up as they did, Master and slave in some room in Colorado at the start of the Apocalypse. As much as it might seem to have happened overnight, it really didn't. I mean, you can skip the Before parts if you like, but if you get to the end and don't understand, it is entirely not my fault! ;-)
