I have to say that I deeply appreciate you articulating your sense of "not hot" with respect to this fic and BTH because they are definitely meant to walk the line with a leaning toward a certain kind of psychological horror and it's awesome to see someone who was so deeply affected by that horror.
And I totally respect and appreciate you engaging with this fic even if it's darker than you'd usually enjoy. I have seen pieces of Leo's work because I think we share a lot of readers, but there's definitely a way in which we're approaching things differently enough so not everyone can bridge the divide. As for the presence or not of good@Sam or the worth or futility of Dean's hope, I personally believe that hope is always the best policy and I hope you stick around to see how it all turns out!
