As for the word "cunt", it may be a personal preference thing. I honestly don't know how it's more distracting than anything else I could've put there. Could you tell me more about what particularly bothers you about the C-word? I usually find more flowery terminology a bit silly and "pussy" only somewhat less so. I suppose I could have gone for the super-vague "her" and just left it at that, but I dunno, the non-references always seem like a bit of a cop-out to me. I do tend to prefer reading/writing queer erotica more than het stuff and find smuttier words pretty common in those contexts, so it's possible that the C-word is more shocking to het-oriented readers. I dunno.
