HI! *waves enthusiastically*

I am, in fact, not dead. Grad school is, however, kicking my ass. (I have heard it is considered a fandom in itself and that people occasionally disappear into it like the Bermuda Triangle or the Mists of Avalon, so maybe you've heard of its havoc before?) So, YES, I am still working on the next installment of the ESU, it is far from dead! And, YES, I am also slowly working through the backlog of awesome comments from all you lovely people. I apologize for not getting to them sooner. This journal will shortly return to active status, if only to post one-offs I've written over the past year while I and trusty beta/cheerleader types continue to toil over the ESU. It will probably also help that I intend to do mini_nanowrimo again, so words will happen come hell or high unicorns. ;)

Thanks so much for sticking around (or for joining up) despite my long absence! Hope to see you all more and soon!

As summer has finally arrived in my neck of the woods, I find myself somewhat freer to continue my fannish creative pursuits, but, alas, many of my previous betas are rather busy. EVIL!SAMMY: For those of you waiting on the next installment of the ESU, it had an arduous process in October (being eaten by Word at least twice and poked by a number of lovely betas), but I'm hoping to release it in the next two weeks.

NANOWRIMO: Real life concerns mean that I'm not doing it this year, but I am doing mini_nanowrimo where I've committed to 100 words per day, though I'm aiming for 500 words per day. Keep your eyes on this spot if you'd like to see my progress. :)

I'm doing this a little differently than some of my fic comrades. Although most of the fics that birthed these snippets have various titles, universes, and contexts, I'm posting them without any of their specifics. You may speculate at will (in fact, I encourage it), but I won't be directly answering any "what is this from" questions for these. I will say, though, that while some of these are known to be in-progress, others I may have never mentioned before. If you plan to speculate anyway, note that the order has nothing to do with anything, so focus only on the content. Also? I'd say that it's difficult to take anything at face value when it's obviously out of context. And, as always, I reserve the right to modify or destroy these passages as I continue to work on these fics. Now then, go ponder the randomness within. *grins evilly*

The bidding has started over at Sweet Charity, a fandom-based charity that allows creative fans to sell their fandom wares in the name of a good cause. This year's cause is RAINN, an anti-sexual assault organization.

I'm offering fics of any (reasonable) length in any of my major fandoms, especially aiming for those bidders with darker or kinkier interests, but really up for anything. So, if you're aching for something in one of my long lost 'verses or would love to see me write to some strange prompt, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE! I've always loved writing, even when it was only for me, but it really makes me giddy when other people can enjoy my writing too. So, thank you so much for just being around and for reading my work. And don't worry, you'll have plenty more of my fics to read soon!

Most of my fics only exist because of my participation in mini_nanowrimo and NaNoWriMo 2006. This experience not only helped me grow as a writer, but actually helped me think of myself more as a writer. A month ago, I would never have said I was a fanfic writer, but now I think maybe I am. This was my first NaNo and my first big writing challenge. I honestly didn't think I could do it, but I did. Any of you who have thought about doing NaNo, but never signed up, please give yourself a chance to try it next year! Go sign up to get a reminder email in October.

NaNoWriMo is the most beautiful torture and I'm addicted to its creative pleasure-pain!
